A+: San Jose lost to Inland Empire 3-1
(being swept in the best-of-five championship series)
San Jose: LF Devin Harris: 1 for 4, 2B
San Jose: CF Jesus Galindo: 1 for 3, 3B
San Jose: SP Adalberto Mejia: 6.1 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K
San Jose: RP Jose Casilla: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K--1 IBB, 1 HB, 1 WP
San Jose: RP Derek Law: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K
While no one reached base twice for the Giants, they did get a couple XBH. Both came in the 5th inning when Harris hit a lead-off double and Galindo followed with a two-out, RBI triple. The rest of the lineup managed three singles and two walks. In the three-game series, the Giants' offense managed just two runs, two XBH, and a dozen hits overall.
Mejia had a quality start. He recorded an out in the 7th inning just twice this year, both of which were his final two regular season starts, and did so again in this game. He threw 98 pitches (63 strikes). He allowed a run in each of the 2nd, 5th and 7th inning, with the final run scoring after he had left the game. In a combined 2.2 scoreless IP, Casilla and Law combined to strike out five of their thirteen batters but allowed five the other eights batters to reach base.
