Friday highlight from the Giants' farm: Joseph Rapp homered while reaching base three times.  Also notable, Pat Young had 6.0 scoreless IP.

AAA: Fresno lost to Iowa 5-4

Fresno: 1B Johnny Monell: 1 for 4, HR, SO
Fresno: C Jackson Williams: 2 for 4, 2B

Fresno: SP Yusmeiro Petit: 5.0 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K--1 HR

Monell hit his 18th HR.  Williams was one of three Grizzlies with two hits.  He has hit .238/.301/.383 this year and i is eligible to become a minor league free agent at the end of the season.

Petit allowed two baserunners per inning as he came up shy of a quality start.

AA: Richmond lost to New Hampshire 11-2

Richmond: RF Jarrett Parker: 1 for 4, HR

Richmond: SP Edwin Escobar: 4.0 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 --1 HR, 1 HB

While no Flying Squirrel reached base twice, Parker connected for his 15th HR.

Escobar's sixth start in the upper minors was easily his least effective in that span.  The 8 H were a new season high, and the 5 R tied his season high.  For the year, he still has a sub-3.00 ERA.

A+: San Jose lost to Bakersfield 7-6

San Jose: CF Chris Lofton: 3 for 4, 2B, HBP, SB
San Jose: 2B Bobby Haney: 2 for 4, BB, SO

San Jose: SP Ty Blach: 6.1 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 6 K--1 HR, 1 WP

Batting in the final two spots in the lineup, Lofton and Haney combined to reach base seven times.  Both have AVGs close to .250.

Making his 22nd start, Blach matched a season high with 6 ER.  His season ERA remains below 3.00.

A-: Augusta defeated Greensboro 5-4

Augusta: SP Justin Schumer: 6.1 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 2 K--2 HR, 1 HB, 1 WP

The GreenJackets went deep three times with solo HRs--Brown with his 3rd HR, Jones with his 7th HR and Rapp with his 4th HR.

Schumer pitched into the 7th inning for the third time in his last four starts.  But with 4 ER, his ERA remains above 4.50.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Everett 4-1

Drawing three of the Volcanoes' nine walks, Eberle reached base in three of four plate appearances.  His 8 BB over his last eight games have helped raise his OBP to .375.

Young has not allowed an earned run through four NWL starts.  His component stats are 13 H, 4 BB and 10 K in 19.1 IP.  Tonight he had a 7/1 GO/FO line in a season-high 6.0 IP.  Neff and McVey each pitched a perfect inning.

DSL: Gigantes hosting Twins suspended in 4th inning due to rain

Dominican: SP Olbis Parra: 3.2 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 2 K--2 WP, 2 PO

Angomas (18.2 y.o.) reached base in all three plate appearances.  Parra (18.10 y.o.) issued a season-high 4 BB after just 9 BB in his previous ten starts.
