Saturday highlights from the Giants' farm: starters Austin Fleet, Edwin Escobar and Justin Schumer combined for just 1 R in 19.1 IP, and Matt Duffy homered among three hits.

AAA: Fresno defeated Albuquerque 4-2

Peguero's 1st triple, 9th double and single were three of the Grizzlies' eight hits. He has hit .313/.353/.417 in 192 AB in the PCL. Adrianza entered the PCL with a reputation more for his defense than his offense, but in his first 20 PCL games he has a .449 OBP and 6 errors.

Fleet delivered a quality start for the fifth time in seven PCL starts. He has a 2.70 ERA in his seven PCL starts but a 4.03 ERA overall this year. Sanchez, the ex-Giant, has a 5.09 ERA through nine starts in the Dodgers organization.

AA: Richmond defeated New Hampshire 5-0

Richmond: 2B Mark Minicozzi: 2 for 3, 2B, BB, SO
Richmond: 3B Adam Duvall: 2 for 3, 2B, BB

Richmond: SP Edwin Escobar: 7.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K

Minicozzi and Duvall both doubled, singled and walked to reach base three times each. The performances improved their respective OPS to .888 and .755.

Escobar had perhaps the best start of his pro career, facing just one batter over the minimum in 7.0 scoreless IP. He allowed just a two-out single in the 2nd inning. In five starts since his mid-season promotion, his component stats are 21 H, 5 BB and 32 K in 31.0 IP.

A+: San Jose lost to Bakersfield 12-5
(allowing nine runs over the 2nd and 3rd innings)

Duffy's 3rd Cal League HR brought the Giants within a run in the top of the 3rd inning, before the Blaze broke the score open in the bottom half of the inning. Both Duffy and Cavan reached base three times.

Marte allowed hits to eight of twelve batters in his short start, raising his H/IP to an even 1.00 (79 H in 79.0 IP). Harrold pitched a perfect 8th inning after the Giants other four relievers each allowed at least one earned run.

A-: Augusta defeated Charleston 3-2 (12 innings) in game 1
(after both teams scored a run in the 11th inning)

Augusta: 3B Mitchell Delfino: 2 for 6, HR, 2B

Augusta: SP Justin Schumer: 6.1 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

After hitting his 22nd double early in the game, Delfino got the game's big hit, connecting for his 9th HR to win the game in walk-off fashion.

Schumer had one of his best starts this year. After 17 ER in his four starts, he has allowed just 16 ER over his subsequent nine starts.

A-: Augusta defeated Charleston 3-2 (7 innings) in game 2

Augusta: SP Joe Kurrasch: 5.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5--4 WP
Augusta: RP Ian Gardeck: 2.0 IP, 1 BB, 4 K--1 WP

Cain his his 7th HR. With his 17th double and a single, Houck was the lone GreenJacket to reach base twice.

After 8 NWL starts, Kurrasch made his full-season debut. He allowed just 1 ER despite 4 wild pitches. Gardeck struck out four of his seven batters for his 1st pro save.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Spokane 6-5
(allowing all five runs in the 7th inning but rallying for four runs in the 8th inning)

Horan hit his 1st pro HR, and Ragira belted his 7th and 8th (pro) doubles.

Young has yet to allow an earned run in 13.1 pro IP. Slania and Montero finished the game with a perfect 8th and 9th inning.

R: Giants lost to Diamondbacks 3-0

Scottsdale: LF Leonardo Fuentes: 1 for 2, BB, CS

Scottsdale: SP Carlos Diaz: 2.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 3 K

Fuentes had one of the rookie Giants' three hits (all singles) and one of their three walks.

In his seventh start, Diaz allowed hits to half of his twelve batters. After just 14 H allowed in his first six appearances (including five starts), he has allowed 12 H in his last two starts, raising his BAA to .250 (26 H in 28.0 IP).

DSL: Gigantes defeated Padres 8-2

Dominican: CF Gustavo Cabrera: 4 for 5, 3 SB
Dominican: SP Olbis Parra: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

Cabrera's (17.6 y.o.) four singles raised his AVG to .236. He now has 16 SB. Parra (18.10 y.o.) had his second straight quality start despite just 1 K.
