Thursday highlights from the Giants' farm: Ty Blach had 7.0 scoreless IP, Devin Harris had 3 XBH, and Javier Herrera reached base in all five plate appearances. Also notable, Jeff Arnold, Myles Schroder, and Ben Turner each homered in multi-hit efforts.

Monell and Tanaka each reached base three times. The rest of the Grizzlies lineup combined for three singles and a hit batter, but managed to negate much of that while also hitting three GiDP.
Fitzgerald allowed nearly half (12 of 26) his batters to reach base. The 6 BB seem like a career high. Dunning had 1.1 perfect IP. He has a 1.38 ERA in 31 PCL appearances this year.

Herrera reached base in all five plate appearances. Duvall and Stromsmoe joined Herrera with three hits each.
Snodgrass completed six innings for just the second time in his last nine starts. Despite an ERA above 6.00 in July, his season ERA remains below 3.50.

Bouncing back from his last start (6 ER in 6.1 IP), Blach delivered 7.0 scoreless IP, improving his ERA to 2.79. The Athletics' Anderson was roughed up in his rehab start for 5 ER.

Turner and Cain hit their 2nd and 9th HRs. Rapp's three hits lifted his AVG to .256. Starling, whom the Royals drafted fifth overall two years ago, reached base four times. Since the SAL's all-star break, he has hit .270/.360/.413 in 189 AB.
Stratton came up a bit shy of achieving his fourth straight quality start. His component stats since the all-star break are 63 H, 21 BB and 47 K in 59.2 IP.

Batting at the bottom of the order, Polonius had four hits to lead the Volcanoes' seventeen-hit attack. Tuntland was one of five other Volcanoes with three hits, including his 2nd HR and 5th double.
Smith has allowed just 1 ER in each of his two starts.
