Heston retired less than half (10 of 24) his batters. He threw 100 pitches (58 strikes) in less than 4.0 IP. Matching a season high with 7 ER, he saw his ERA rise to 5.73. Hembree, who had allowed 12 H in 7.1 IP over his last seven appearances, pitched a perfect 9th inning for his 17th save.

Richmond: 2B Skyler Stromsmoe: 2 for 4, SO

Stromsmoe had two of the Flying Squirrels' six hits.

Gloor allowed 3 ER in the 3rd inning. Not particularly efficient with his pitch count--98 pitches (64 strikes) in 5.0 IP--he came up shy of a quality start.

San Jose: RF Mac Williamson: 2 for 4, 2B, 2 BB (1 IBB)

San Jose: SP Clayton Blackburn: 6.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K

Williamson and Bond each drew two of the Giants' four walks as both reached base four times. With two hits in six of his last eight games, Williamson has raised his AVG to .266. Lofton's three singles raised his AVG to .250.

Blackburn allowed less than 2 ER for just the second time in his last twelve starts. He lowered his ERA to 4.55.

A-: Augusta lost to Charleston 2-0

Augusta: 2B Alberto Robles: 1 for 2, 2 BB

Augusta: SP Martin Agosta: 4.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 3 K

Robles had the GreenJackets' only hit (a leadoff single in the 6th inning) and two of their five walks. He has hit .258/.343/.323 through 62 AB.

Making his first start in two weeks, Agosto allowed over a third (7 of 18) his batters to reach base but kept the damage to a single run. Bucardo struck out four of his six batters. In eight Sally League relief appearances, he has 7 H, 5 BB and 17 K in 16.2 IP.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Everett 4-1

Salem-Keizer: CF Randy Ortiz: 2 for 4, BB, SO, SB

Salem-Keizer: SP Andrew Leenhouts: 5.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K--1 HR

Scottsdale: SP Luis Pino: 4.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 7 K--1 HB
Scottsdale: RP Eury Sanchez: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Ragira tripled and singled as the lone rookie Giant with two hits. He has a seven-game hitting streak to begin his pro career.

Pino's third start had new season highs across the board as 4.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB and 7 K were all new season highs. Sanchez threw a perfect 9th inning for his 3rd save.
