Friday highlights from the Giants' farm: Chris Stratton had 7.0 scoreless IP, Yusmeiro Petit allowed just 1 R in 7.0 IP, and Angel Villalona homered among three hits.

AAA: Fresno defeated Tacoma 3-2

Pill connected for his 16th HR. Brown was the lone Grizzly with two hits. Adrianza doubled and walked to be one of two other Grizzlies to reach base twice.

Petit allowed a leadoff HR to his first batter but then scattered three hits over 7.0 otherwise scoreless IP. He lowered his ERA to 5.24. The Mariners' Walker, likely among the top twenty prospects in the minors, also allowed just 1 R. In his first four PCL starts, the 20-year-old's stats are 14 H, 7 BB, 2 R and 21 K in 21.0 IP.

AA: Richmond lost to Bowie 10-2 (7 innings) in game 2

Richmond: SP Ryan Bradley: 3.2 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 5 BB, 0 K--1 HR

Villalona hit his 3rd HR and 7th double among 17 H since his promotion to the upper minors. Batting leadoff, the 25-year-old Robinson, the former Dodgers prospect now with the Orioles, reached base in all five plate appearances.

Bradley allowed 12 of 21 batters to reach base. After five straight appearances which had lowered his ERA, today his ERA rose back to nearly 7.00.

AA: Richmond defeated Bowie 4-3 (7 innings) in game 2
(scoring all four runs in the 5th inning)

Richmond: CF Ryan Lollis: 1 for 2, BB

Richmond: SP Jack Snodgrass: 5.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 2 K--1 HR

With one of the Flying Squirrels' five hits (all singles) and one of their three walks, both Susac and Lollis reached base twice.

Snodgrass allowed less than 3 R for just the second time in his last seven starts.

(scoring the go-ahead run in the 8th inning)

Oropesa hit his 3rd HR in eighteen Cal League games. Williamson, who had his 20th double and 7th SB, and Tomlinson also reached base twice each.

Blackburn's third straight quality start lowered his ERA to 4.35. Forjet and Law combined to strike out seven of their eleven batters in 3.0 scoreless IP.

A-: Augusta lost to Lakewood 3-2
(allowing all three runs in the 9th inning)

Augusta: 3B Mitchell Delfino: 2 for 4, 2B

Augusta: SP Chris Stratton: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 4 K

Delfino doubled and singled to raise his AVG back above .230.

Stratton faced just four batters over the minimum in 7.0 scoreless IP despite allowing over a third (9 of 25) of his batters to reach base. He induced 3 GiDP and benefited from 2 CS. The 4 BB was the most issued in his last seven starts.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Tri-City 10-7
(rallying with five runs in the 9th inning)

With three hits each, Hollick, Sy and Escalante combined for over half of the Volcanoes' seventeen hits. Batting leadoff, Hollick reached base four times, raising his OBP closer to .400. Sy hit his 5th HR but also committed his 8th, 9th and 10th errors (in 27 games). Escalante's three hits, including his 3rd and 4th doubles, raised his AVG above .300.

Making his second start in nine appearances, Escalante ended up yielding six unearned runs (plus 1 ER) in his first two innings but finished with scoreless 3rd and 4th innings.

Vander Tuig had 2 K in a perfect 1st inning in his pro debut. Young followed in long relief.
