In the the 8th inning, Pill hit his 15th HR--a two-run shot to give the Grizzlies the lead. Monell and Williams, drawing the Grizzlies' only two walks, both reached base twice.
Petit allowed 4 R in the 1st inning but followed up with six scoreless innings thereafter. He evened his W-L record at 4-4. Hembree pitched a perfect 9th inning for his 19th save.

Minicozzi's 24th double accounted for the Flying Squirrels' lone baserunner.
Making his upper minors debut, Escobar allowed 4 ER and hits to one third (6 of 18) his batters.

Bond, one of four Giants with two hits, reached base three times.
Making his first start in four weeks, Marte faced just three batters over the minimum in 5.0 scoreless IP. He threw just 62 pitches (38 strikes) and improved his ERA to 3.34.
