Thursday highlights from the Giants' farm: Joan Gregorio had 9 K and 1 R in 6.0 IP, and Juan Perez had four hits.

AAA: Fresno defeated Sacramento 3-2
(scoring the winning run in the top of the 9th inning)

With his 4th triple and three singles, Perez had half of the Grizzlies' eight hits. Villegas also tripled while reaching base four times. Playing his second PCL games, Adrianza singled twice.

Surkamp struggled with his control, throwing just 50 of 93 pitches for strikes and issuing seven free passes. He had previously issued just 4 BB this year. Still, he kept the damage to 2 R, and his ERA remains below 3.00. In the 9th inning, Hembree issued a leadoff walk but retired the next three batters for his 18th save.

AA: Richmond lost to Bowie 10-1

Richmond: 3B Adam Duvall: 1 for 3, BB

Richmond: SP Chris Gloor: 5.0+ IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 5 K--1 HR

Duvall was the lone Flying Squirrel to reach base twice. After hitting .378 in April, his AVG has regressed to .256.

Gloor began the game with 4.0 scoreless IP, before allowing 1 ER in the 5th inning and not retiring any of his three batters in the 6th inning. His ERA rose to 3.50.

A+: San Jose lost to Visalia 6-5
(allowing two runs in the bottom of the 9th inning)

Tomlinson's three hits raised his AVG above .300. Lofton, who hit his 8th triple, and Haney also reached base three times each.

With 1 ER in 6.0 IP over each of his last two starts, Blackburn has lowered his ERA to 4.35.

A-: Augusta defeated Savannah 9-1
(scoring seven runs in the 2nd inning)

With three hits each, Galindo and Jones combined for nearly half of the GreenJackets' thirteen hits. They raised their AVGs to .274 and .217.

Gregorio had his best start in over a month. He began the season with five starts with 1 ER or less. After 3+ ER in each of his last four starts, this start was back on track with his early season performances. His 9 K was one off his season high. Through ten starts, he has 50 H, 12 BB and 63 K n 53.2 IP.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Spokane 9-1

Salem-Keizer: C Ty Ross: 4 for 5, 2 2B

Salem-Keizer: SP Andrew Leenhouts: 5.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K

Making his NWL debut after three AZL games, Ross doubled twice and singled twice, accounting for nearly half of the Volcanoes' nine hits.

Leenhouts has allowed just 5 ER through six starts, providing himself a 1.63 ERA.

Scottsdale: RP Donald Snelton: 2.0 IP, 1 BB, 6 K

Cavan and Moreno each had three of the rookie Giants' eighteen hits. Batting leadoff, Arroyo reached base four times.

In his third start, Pino allowed a season-high 3 R. Snelton, who had 4 K over his previous four appearances, struck out six of his seven batters.
