Wednesday highlight from the Giants' farm: Mac Williamson homered while reaching base three times. Also notable, Justin Schumer had 5.0 scoreless IP.

AA: Richmond lost to Bowie 7-4

Richmond: C Mark Wagner: 3 for 3, 2 2B

Richmond: SP Craig Westcott: 4.0 IP, 11 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 1 K--1 HR

Wagner, the Flying Squirrels' backup catcher hit safely in all three at bats. Before today, he had hit safely just five times in his 48 AB since the start of May.

In his fifteenth start, Westcott allowed new season highs with 6 ER and 11 H. The 4.0 matched his second shortest start this year.

A+: San Jose lost to Modesto 4-3
(scoring three runs in the 8th inning but allowing two runs in the 9th inning)

Williamson hit his 10th HR--a three-run shot in the 8th inning driving in all three of the Giants' runs. He has 4 HRs in June after 3 HRs in both April and May.

In his fifth rehab start, Surkamp had 6 K while facing just two batters over the minimum in 4.0 IP. He threw 63 pitches (46 strikes). Marte provided long relief, also allowing just 1 R in 4.0 IP.

A-: Augusta lost to Savannah 5-1

Augusta: DH Ben Turner: 2 for 4, 2B

Augusta: SP Justin Schumer: 5.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K--2 HB, 1 WP

Turner had two of the GreenJackets' five hits, raising his AVG to .263.

Schumer's ninth start was perhaps his best this year as he matched a season-high 5 K in 5.0 scoreless IP.

McCall reached base base three times, raising his OBP above .400. Cornier was one of two other Volcanoes with two hits.

Reyes has allowed just 2 R through three starts. Smith, who had 6 BB and 5 K over his first three appearances, struck out five of his seven batters.

Hitting in the top two spots in the lineup, Moreno and Tomlinson, the rookie Giants' middle infielders, both reached base three times. Both have .304 AVGs.

In his first two U.S. starts, Diaz has allowed 8 ER and 8 BB in 5.1 IP.

After just three hits in his first eight games in his third pro season, Parra (18.10 y.o.) had four hits in his ninth game. In his last three starts, Vizcaino (17.6 y.o.) has pitched well, with 13 K and 3 ER in 15.0 IP.
