Monday highlights from the Giants' farm: Taylor Rogers had 8.0 scoreless IP, and Joe Biagini allowed just 1 R in 7.0 IP. Also notable, Chris Johnson had 6.0 scoreless IP.

AAA: Fresno lost to Tacoma 14-4

Fresno: SP Fabio Castillo: 4.0 IP, 10 H, 10 R, 10 ER, 4 BB, 4 K--1 HR
Fresno: "RP" Tyler LaTorre: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Monell and Pill connected for their 14th and 12th HRs.

Castillo was hit hard, or at least frequently. Surrendering 10 ER, his ERA rose to 9.00 through five PCL starts. LaTorre managed a perfect 8th inning to mop up the game.

AA: Richmond defeated Bowie 8-0

Richmond: SS Ehire Adrianza: 2 for 3, BB, SB

Richmond: SP Taylor Rogers: 8.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 8 K

Adrianza reached base three times. With 26 BB among 209 AB, he has a .324 OBP desite just a .234 AVG. Herrera hit his 18th and 19th doubles.

Rogers had easily his best appearance of the year with 8 K in 8.0 scoreless IP. He got his ERA below 6.00.

A+: San Jose lost to Modesto 2-0

San Jose: C Jeff Arnold: 0 for 2, BB

San Jose: SP Ty Blach: 6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 7 K--1 HR, 1 WP, E
San Jose: RP Stephen Harrold: 1.0 IP, 1 BB, 3 K
Modesto: SP Daniel Winkler: 7.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 7 K

Arnold managed one of the Giants' three walks as they were no-hit.

Blach had 7 K, the most in his last five starts. He now has 70 K and 8 BB through 77.2 IP. Harrold struck out three of his four batters in a scoreless 9th inning. Winkler, a late round draft pick of the Rockies two years ago, combined with two relievers for the no-hit shutout. After an ERA of nearly 4.50 last year in 25 Sally League starts, he has statistically dominated the Cal League this year. Through fifteen starts, his component stats are 47 H, 24 BB and 105 K in 90.2 IP.

Augusta: SP Joe Biagini: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 H--1 HR

Galindo had three of the GreenJackets' nine hits (all singles), raising his AVG to .276. Branca also had two hits, although his AVG remains barely above .200.

Biagini had one of his best starts this year, improving his W-L record to 6-1.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Vancouver 1-0 (10 innings)

Salem-Keizer: SP Chris Johnson: 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K

Jones had two of the Volcanoes' five hits, including a walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning.

Johnson faced just three batters over the minimum in his third start. He has delivered 6.0 scoreless IP in two of his three starts.

R: The rookie Giants had their first scheduled off-day this year

DSL: Gigantes defeated Rockies 9-8

Dominican: RP Shawn Gomez: 5.0 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 3 K--2 HR, 1 WP

Angomas (18.0 y.o.) singled three times to raise his AVG to .258 through his first fifteen pro games. After the Gigantes' starter allowed 5 ER in 2.0 IP, Gomez (18.10 y.o.) provided long relief, covering 5.0 IP.
