Wednesday highlights from the Giants' farm: Joe Biagini allowed 1 R in 6.2 IP, and Johnny Monell, Adam Duvall and Javier Herrera each homered in a multi-hit performance.

AAA: Fresno lost to Tucson 3-2

Fresno: RP Heath Hembree: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER--1 HR

Monell was the lone Grizzly to reach base twice. His 8th HR was a solo shot in the top of the 9th inning to tie the game.

Coming off a season-high 9 ER in his previous start, Bonser delivered his a quality start. In his eleventh start, he did not issue a walk for the first time this year. His K/BB is now above 1.00. Hembree allowed a solo HR to the second batter he faced in the bottom of the 9th inning. With 6 ER over his last four appearances, his ERA has risen above 4.00.

AA: Richmond defeated New Britain 10-5

Dropped to the final spot in the batting order, Herrera led the Flying Squirrels' offense with his 6th HR, 12th double, a single and a walk. Adrianza also had three hits, raising his AVG to .236. Duvall added his 4th HR.

Making his tenth start, Westcott matched a season-high yielding 8 H. In half his starts, he has allowed 0-1 ER; in the other five starts, he has allowed 3-5 ER. He has a 3.88 ERA. Valdez struck out all three of his batters in the 9th inning. Despite a K/IP of 1.17, he has a 4.61 ERA. Tonight snapped a string of six straight appearances allowing at least 1 ER.

A+: San Jose lost to Bakersfield 6-4

San Jose: CF Chris Lofton: 2 for 3, 2 BB, CS
San Jose: 1B Angel Villalona: 1 for 4, HR

San Jose: SP Kelvin Marte: 7.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 3 K

Lofton, the lone Giant with two hits, reached base four times. He has hit .284/.369/.404 through 141 AB in his fourth pro season. Villalona connected for his 12th HR, including 4 HRs in his last four games.

Marte's fourth start in nine appearances was full of new season highs, including 7.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER and 3 BB.

With two of the GreenJackets' five hits, plus a walk, Brown raised his AVG to .243.

Biagini had a season-high 9 K. He has been quite effective over his last three starts with 12 H, 3 BB, 3 R and 15 K in 20.2 IP. Law and Mizenko combined to strike out all but one of their batters in 2.0 perfect IP.
