Panik reached base three times. With 9 H and 4 BB in his last five games, he has raised his OBP to .374. He also had his 1st SB. Last year he had a 10/4 SB/CS line. Susac's pinch-hit double was the lone XBH for the Flying Squirrels.
Rogers began the game with 3.0 scoreless IP, despite having two batters reach via errors. In the 4th inning, he allowed 5 R as he walked two batters, allowed singled to two other batters and had yet another batter reach via error. Alderson, whom the Giants traded to the Pirates nearly four years ago, allowed both of the Squirrels runs.

The Giants got a pair of 3-run HRs. In the 1st inning, Villalona connected for his 4th HR; in the 5th inning, Harris got his 3rd HR. Schroder reached base in all four plate appearances as he had three of the Giants' four walks. The 25-year-old has an OPS over 1.000 through his first 27 AB in the Cal League.
Escobar struck out nearly half (9 of 20) of his batters. With 9 K in each of his last two starts, he has 29 K in 19.0 IP through four starts this year. Of the batters he did not strike out tonight, most of them did reach base, helping to contribute to his early exit. He departed the game after 76 pitches (50 strikes).
