Monday highlight from the Giants' farm: Roger Kieschnick homered and tripled.

AAA: Fresno lost to Tucson 8-6
(after allowing six runs in the 4th innings)

Fresno: LF Cole Gillespie: 3 for 5, 2B, SO
Fresno: RF Roger Kieschnick: 2 for 4, HR, 3B, SO

Fresno: SP Mike Kickham: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 6 K--1 HR, 1 PO
Fresno: RP Heath Hembree: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 K--1 HR

Kieschnick had his 4th HR and 2nd triple, helping to keep his OPS above 1.000. He has hit .368/.380/.706 through his first 68 AB. A year ago he hit .306/.376/.604 in his PCL debut that was limited to 222 AB due to injury. Gillespie had three hits, including his 5th double, to raise his AVG above .250.

Kickham yielded 6 R, all in the 4th inning. Four of the runs scored on a grand slam by the opposing starting pitcher. With 5 ER in each of his last two starts, his ERA is now above 7.00. Making his eighth appearance, Hembree allowed his 1st HR this year.

AA: Richmond defeated Altoona 10-6

Richmond: SS Ehire Adrianza: 2 for 4, BB, SO
Richmond: 2B Joe Panik: 2 for 4, BB, 2 SO
Richmond: C Andrew Susac: 1 for 2, 2B, 2 BB

Richmond: SP Chris Gloor: 4.0 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K--1 HB, 1 IBB, 1 PO
Altoona: SP Jameson Taillon: 6.0 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K--1 HB

Adrianza, Susac and Panik all reached base three times while playing the three most difficult (non-pitching) defensive positions. Of the eight Flying Squirrels with at least 40 AB, they rank 2nd, 3rd and 4th on the team with OBPs of .389, .351 and .349, respectively.

After allowing 4 ER in both of his first two starts, Gloor allowed 5 ER in his third start. With 16 H in 13.2 IP, opposing hitters are hitting nearly .300 against him. In his previous start, the Pirates' Taillon had 7.0 scoreless IP against the Flying Squirrels, but they came back this time with 5 ER, scoring three times in the 1st inning and twice in the 4th inning.
