Sunday highlights from the Giants' farm: Juan Perez homered twice, and Johnny Monell, Carter Jurica and Angell Villalona all homered as part of multi-hit games.

AAA: Fresno defeated Tucson 11-6
(scoring seven runs over the last two innings)

Fresno: 3B Juan Perez: 2 for 5, 2 HR, SO

Perez homered in both the 8th and 9th innings to punctuate the Grizzlies' comeback. Monell and Jurica also homered, while both reached base three times. All three Grizzlies hit their 1st HR this year.

Petit has yielded 5 ER in two of his three starts, giving him an ERA above 6.00. Making his fifth appearance, Hembree yielded his first run this year.

AA: Richmond lost to Trenton 15-1
(after trailing 9-0 entering the 4th inning)

Richmond: C Mark Wagner: 2 for 3, BB, 2 PB
Trenton: RF Tyler Austin: 3 for 6, 2B, 2 SO, SB

Richmond: RP Fabio Castillo: 2.2 IP, 3 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 K--1 WP

Wagner reached base three times but also allowed his first two passed balls. The Yankees' Austin, generally considered one of the top 100 prospects in the minors, had 5 RBIs on three hits.

Westcott retired only four of his fourteen batters. In long relief, Castillo was better but still retired just half of his fourteen batters. Both pitchers threw 58 pitches but combined for just 4.1 IP.

A+: San Jose defeated Visalia 8-6

San Jose: LF Shawn Payne: 2 for 3, 2 BB, CS
San Jose: 1B Angel Villalona: 2 for 3, HR, SF

San Jose: SP Chris Marlowe: 4.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 3 K
San Jose: RP Josh Osich: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 2 K

After just two hits in his first ten games, Villalona doubled his hit total with two more hits, including his 1st HR. A year ago he had 7 HRs in the DSL; four years ago he had 9 HR for San Jose. Payne reached base four times, raising his ERA to .471 through eleven games.

Marlowe began with three scoreless frames but allowed 2 ER in the 4th inning and then loaded the bases with just one out in the 5th inning (although all three runners were stranded). Making his fourth appearance, Osich recorded his 1st save.

A-: Augusta at Charleston tied 7-7 (suspended after 13 innings)
(game to be resumed on June 13)

Augusta: CF Jesus Galindo: 4 for 7, SO, 3 SB
Augusta: SS Matthew Duffy: 2 for 5, BB, SH

Augusta: SP Joe Biagini: 5.1 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
Augusta: "RP" Stephen Branca: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Galindo had four hits, including his first XBH this year. He raised his AVG above .250. Duffy reached base three times as the shortstop continues to be perhaps the GreenJackets' best and most consistent hitter.

Biagini allowed 2 ER in both the 4th and 6th innings. The latter two scored after he had left the game with the bases loaded with one out. Infielder Branca pitched a scoreless 13th inning before the game was suspended.
