Friday highlight from the Giants' farm: Chris Stratton had 7 K in 5.0 scoreless IP. Also notable, Andrew Susac doubled twice and walked.

Tanaka paced the Grizzlies' eleven-hit attack with his three singles, raising his AVG to .412. Kieschnick had his 2nd HR and threw out a runner at the plate, while the other two outfielders, Brown and Peguero, each doubled and singled. Peguero has hit over .400 through eight games, although the double was his first XBH this year.

Kickham had a somewhat brief start as he struggled with his control, throwing just 43 of 79 pitches for strikes in 4.0 IP. Runzler had 2 K in a perfect 7th inning, and Hembree got his 3rd save.

AA: Richmond lost to Trenton 5-3 (7.5 innings)
(completed early due to rain after Trenton scored four runs in the 7th inning)

Richmond: SP Justin Fitzgerald: 4.2 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K--1 WP

Susac had his second straight game with 2 XBH. With 6 XBH in his last five games, he has a .760 SLG after seven games this year.

Fitzgerald allowed hits to one third of his batters but just one run. He has allowed a single run in both starts but not completed the 5th inning in either start.

A+: San Jose lost to Visalia 12-6
(allowing five runs in both the 4th and 8th innings)

San Jose: 3B Ryan Cavan: 2 for 5, 2B, GiDP

San Jose: SP Kyle Crick: 3.2 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K--2 WP

Cavan had the Giants' lone-multi-hit line, and his 4th double was their lone XBH. He has a .350 AVG.

Crick had three scoreless frames before allowing 5 R in the 4th inning. He began that inning by walking the first two batters.

Stratton had perhaps his best appearance as a pro, striking out 7 of his 17 batters. He threw 74 pitches (43 strikes). McVay allowed a solo HR but struck out half of his ten batters.
