Two links for the people interested in the free stuff. My mom usually heads out to the park around 10:00 a.m. for the bobblehead days, and by then, the line is at least out by Red's Java House. When I would ask her, "Why don't you do what I do, and get your bobbleheads from your mom?", she would get all pissy.
Now they're giving away 40,000 bobbleheads instead of 20,000, so it's a non-issue. And of the planned promotions, I really want the Angel Pagan knit beanie. That four-year deal is already paying off.
If you're wondering about the Marco Scutaro rain globe, the tentative plans are to have it as part of a special ticket package, like what the Giants do for the Will Clark bobbleheads on Autism Awareness Night.

Game video of Joe Panik from Bullpen Banter, and it's better than the typical YouTube offerings. I didn't know, for example, that he does a weird pre-pitch twist with his front foot. I do the same thing with my golf swing ... which isn't a good sign for Panik. Maybe I should have people throw the golf ball to me. Couldn't hurt. Yeah, that's probably what's wrong with me.
(I'm still a big Panik booster. He'll end up like Chase Utley, but with a higher average. You'll see.)

The ride from San Francisco to New York was no ordinary Virgin America aircraft, of course. The flight was operated on the Airbus A320 officially named "Fly Bye Baby," or as it is more commonly known, "The Beard." This particular A320 (N849VA) has a large San Francisco Giants logo on either side, as well as a painted on beard on the nose. Originally inspired by Giants closing pitcher Brian Wilson, who is no longer with the team, "The Beard" definitely stands out from the rest of the Virgin fleet.
