The Giants' Villalona grounded out to lead off the 2nd inning and then left the game.  The game featured two big flies, with the Pirates' Hanson connecting for a two-run HR as the second batter of the game and the Angels' Cron, leading off the bottom of the 3rd inning with a solo HR.  Cron and the Cubs' Soler each had three of the Solar Sox' ten hits.

The Braves' Simmons, who had a K/IP ratio above 1.50 last year (with 82 K in 53.1 IP) after being a late round pick in 2012, had 1.1 perfect IP.
