New, comments

Friday's most notable playoff line from the Giants' farm: Joe Panik singled twice.

A+: San Jose lost to Modesto 2-0
(losing the best-of-three series in three games)

San Jose: SS Joe Panik: 2 for 4, GiDP

San Jose: SP Taylor Rogers: 5.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 5 K--1 HB
San Jose: RP Josh Osich: 1.0 IP, 1 K
Modesto: SP Tyler Matzek: 7.1 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

With two of the Giants' five hits (all singles), Panik was their lone hitter to reach base twice. He hit .417 in the three-game series.

Rogers, who started for San Jose on opening day, took the loss in their final game of the year. He allowed just 2 ER on six singles in a game that had no XBH. Osich pitched a perfect 6th inning. Matzek, whom the Rockies drafted eleventh overall three years ago, had 7.1 shutout IP to help close out the series. He had made his final start of the regular season also against San Jose and had 6.0 scoreless IP in that start.
