New, comments

Thursday playoff highlight from the Giants' farm: Jarrett Parker reached base four times.

A+: San Jose lost to Modesto 9-8
(allowing four runs in both the 3rd and 6th innings to send the series to a decisive third game)

San Jose: DH Carter Jurica: 2 for 4, 2B, BB
San Jose: CF Jarrett Parker: 3 for 4, 2B, BB

San Jose: SP Kelvin Marte: 3.0 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K--2 HR
San Jose: RP Edward Concepcion: 2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 K--1 HB

Parker had three of the Giants' thirteen hits, including one of the Giants' five doubles, plus a walk. Jurica, one of three other Giants with two hits, reached base three times.

Marte had allowed more than 2 ER only once in ten appearances (seven starts) for San Jose this year but allowed 5 ER in this start. Concepcion, the fifth of five Giants pitchers, was their lone pitcher not to allow a run.
