Tuesday highlight from the Giants' farm: Jarrett Parker homered twice.

AAA: Fresno lost to Oklahoma City 4-3

Fresno: SP Andrew Kown: 6.0 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 0 BB, 5 K--2 HR
Fresno: RP Shane Loux: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Burriss's three hits paced the Grizzlies' thirteen-hit attack. He has hit .353 in nine games since being outrighted to the minors. Peguero also reached base three times.

Kown came up shy of a quality start after beginning with four scoreless frames but allowing 4 ER over his final two innings. Loux pitched a perfect 7th inning in his first rehab appearance.

AA: Richmond lost to New Britain 5-1

Richmond: RF Juan Perez: 2 for 4

Richmond: SP Michael Kickham: 4.2 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4ER, 2 BB, 9 K--1 HR, 1 WP

With two of the Flying Squirrels' seven hits, Perez raised his AVG to .302.

Following up on his 7.0 no-hit IP start, Kickham had one of his shorter starts of the year. From a statistical perspective, he had an odd start in which most of the hitters (8 of 13) who hit balls in play ended up with hits.

San Jose: RP Jose Valdez: 1.0 IP, 3 K

Parker had his 11th and 12th HR. Oropesa had three hits, including his 25th double, but his AVG remains below .250.

Schumer had just his second quality start since the mid-June all-star break, getting his ERA back below 5.00. Striking out all three of his batters, Valdez improved his K/IP to 1.38.

A-: Augusta defeated Lakewood 4-2

Augusta: 3B Jose Flores: 3 for 4, CS
Augusta: C Jeff Arnold: 2 for 3, HR, SO

Augusta: SP Clayton Blackburn: 7.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 9 K

Arnold led off the 4th inning with his 3rd HR. Flores had three of the GreenJackets' eight hits to raise his AVG to .263.

Blackburn had his fifth straight quality start. In his last eight starts, he has not allowed more than 2 ER. In nine starts since his all-star break, his peripheral stats are 54 H, 5 BB and 60 K in 57.0 IP.

ssA: Salem-Keizer lost to Boise 5-0

Salem-Keizer: 2B Ryan Jones: 2 for 3

Salem-Keizer: SP Lorenzo Mendoza: 6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 8 K--1 HR, 1 WP

Jones had two of the Volcanoes' seven hits (all singles). This year's 13th rounder has hit .224/.307/.256 through his first 156 pro AB.

Mendoza had his first quality start since the Volcanoes' season opener.

Scottsdale: RP Matthew Lujan: 3.2 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 3 K--1 WP

Houck and Relaford both tripled and doubled while combining for seven hits.

Burres had 2.0 scoreless IP in his third rehab start. Lujan, the second of five relievers, had 3.2 scoreless IP despite allowing nearly half (8 of 17) of his batters to reach base. He also allowed an inherited runner to score.

R: Giants lost to Nationals 10-8

Dominican: C Fernando Pujadas: 2 for 3, HR, BB, SO
Dominican: RP Diomedes Mateo: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K

Pujadas (20.7 y.o.) had his 3rd HR, matching his total from a year ago. Mateo (22.9 y.o.) had another effective long relief appearance. He has a 1.56 ERA in 57.2 IP over seventeen relief appearances.
