Monday highlights from the Giants' farm: Brett Pill homered and doubled, Justin Fitzgerald allowed just 1 ER in 6.0 IP, and Shawn Payne had five hits over a doubleheader.

AAA: Fresno tied with Tacoma 3-3 (still in progress midway through 12th inning)

Fresno: SP Yusmeiro Petit: 7.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 6 K--1 HR, 1 HB, 1 BK, 1 PO

Peguero continues to swing a hot bat, with his seventh multi-hit performance in his last nine games. Pill had his 4th HR and 8th double.

Bouncing back from his last start (5 ER in 5.0 IP), Petit delivered another quality start.

AA: Richmond defeated Akron 9-5 (11 innings)

Richmond: SS Ehire Adrianza: 2 for 5, SO, 2 SB
Richmond: DH Johnny Monell: 1 for 4, HR, BB, 2 SO

Richmond: SP Justin Fitzgerald: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 4 K

Brown and Adrianza were two of four GreenJackets with two hits each. Monell led off the 4th inning with his 5th HR.

This was Fitzgerald's first start with 2 R or less and at least 6.0 IP in approximately two months. Still, his ERA remains above 4.50.

A+: San Jose lost to Stockton 7-6
(after leading 5-0 and then scoring the tying run in the top of the 9th inning)

San Jose: SS Joe Panik: 3 for 5, SO, E
San Jose: 3B Adam Duvall: 1 for 5, HR, SO
San Jose: C Andrew Susac: 3 for 5, HR, SO

San Jose: SP Jack Snodgrass: 5.1 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K--1 HB

In the 1st inning, Duvall connected for his 14th HR. In the 9th inning, Susac tied the game with his 5th HR. With a couple singles earlier in the game, he raised his OPS above .700. In between the big flies, Panik paced the Giants' offense with three hits, although he also made his 14th error.

Snodgrass has not had a quality start since the end of May, but his ERA remains below 4.00.

A-: Augusta lost to Savannah 6-3 (7 innings) in game 1

Augusta: SP Edwin Escobar: 4.0+ IP, 8 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 6 K

Payne had three of the GreenJackets' six hits, raising his AVG to an even .300. Krill had his 2nd HR.

Escobar allowed just an unearned run through four innings but then did not retire any of his four batters in the 5th inning.

A-: Augusta defeated Savannah 5-4 (8 innings) in game 2
(after rallying for four runs in the 7th inning to tie)

In the nightcap, Cuevas had three of the GreenJackets' eight hits, but his AVG remains well below .250. Payne added two more hits, including his 11th double. He now has 29 SB.

In five starts this year, Davis has an ERA above 4.00 despite having 19 K against just 1 BB.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Vancouver 2-1

Salem-Keizer: SP Raymundo Montero: 5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K--1 HB

Cain had three hits, including his 3rd double, raising his AVG to .259. He also threw out a runner at the plate. Jones led off the 6th inning with his 2nd HR.

Montero had his best start of the year, featuring a season-high 5 K and season-best 0 ER.

R: Giants lost to Dodgers 3-0

Scottsdale: LF Shilo McCall: 1 for 3, BB, SO

Scottsdale: SP Brandon Allen: 3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

McCall had one of the rookie Giants' five hits and one of their three walks.

Making his third start (effectively), Allen faced the minimum in 3.0 IP.

DSL: Giants lost Cubs2 13-2

Dominican: RF Julio Pena: 3 for 4, HR, SO
Dominican: RP Shawn Gomez: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K--1 HB

Pena (19.6 y.o.) had his 5th HR, as well as a couple singles, raising his SLG to .550 after 80 AB. Gomez (17.10 y.o.), the second of three Gigantes relievers, provided long relief.
