Wednesday highlights from the Giants' farm: Gary Brown and Nick Noonan both homered as part of multi-hit efforts.

AAA: Fresno lost to Las Vegas 11-5

Fresno: SS Nick Noonan: 2 for 5, HR, 2 SO
Fresno: LF Chris Dominguez: 2 for 3, BB
Las Vegas: CF Travis Snider: 4 for 5, 2 HR, 2B

Fresno: SP Andrew Kown: 5.0 IP, 12 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 2 K--1 HR

With 4 HRs over his last seven games, Noonan now has 7 HR this year. Dominguez reached base three times. Snider, apparently can't get back to the majors for the Blue Jays, even with Jose Bautista now on the DL. He entered the night hitting .320/.413/.542, and further improved upon that with 2 HR among four hits.

Since returning from a month-long stint on the DL, Kown has allowing 30 ER over his five starts. His ERA has risen to nearly 6.00.

AA: Richmond lost to Altoona 8-3 (7 innings--completed early)

Richmond: CF Gary Brown: 2 for 3, HR, 2B, SO

Richmond: SP Justin Fitzgerald: 5.0 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7 K--1 HB, 2 WP

The red-hot Brown homered for the second straight night. He now has 6 HR and 24 doubles. The rest of the lineup managed just three hits with no walks.

After three straight strong starts (2 R over 20.0 IP), Fitzgerald experienced a bit of a hiccup with this start.

A+: San Jose lost to Lancaster 9-0
(allowing all nine runs over the first four innings)

San Jose: 2B Carter Jurica: 2 for 4
San Jose: SS Joe Panik: 2 for 4

San Jose: SP Jack Snodgrass: 3.0 IP, 9 H, 7 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 4 K--1 HR, 2 BK
San Jose SP Drew Bowlin: 1.0 IP, 2 K

The Giants two middle infielders--Panik and Jurica--combined for four of the Giants' six hits (all singles).

Snodgrass allowed 7 R for the second time in his last eight starts, raising his ERA above 4.50. Bowlin had 2 K in a perfect 8th inning.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Boise 11-4

Salem-Keizer: SS Matthew Duffy: 3 for 5, HR, E
Salem-Keizer: C Sam Eberle: 2 for 4, SO, PB

Salem-Keizer: SP Raymundo Montero: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 0 K--1 HB, 1 PO
Salem-Keizer: RP Mason McVay: 1.0 IP, 3 K

Duffy had his 1st pro HR, plus a couple singles. Eberle was one of two other Volcanoes with two hits.

Montero managed to scatter nine baserunners over 5.0 scoreless IP, even without a strikeout. McVay struck out all three batters in a perfect 7th inning.

R: Giants lost to Athletics 8-6

Scottsdale: DH Johnathan Williamson: 2 for 5, HR, SO
Scottsdale: LF Shilo McCall: 3 for 3, HR, 2B, BB, SB, CS
Phoenix: SS Addison Russell: 3 for 5, HR, SO

Scottsdale: SP Brandon Allen: 4.2 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 4 K

Both Williamson and McCall had their 1st pro HRs. With three hits, McCall raised his AVG above .300. Russell, whom the Athletics drafted 12th overall, continues his impressive pro debut. He entered the game with an OPS of nearly 1.200 in 61 AB and added to that with his 2nd HR and a couple singles.

Allen has allowed 5+ ER in each of his last three starts. His ERA stands at nearly 8.00.

DSL: Giants lost to Cubs2 3-2

Dominican: 2B Hengerber Medina: 2 for 3, HBP
Dominican: SP Eber Guzman: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K--1 WP

Medina (17.9 y.o.) had two of the Gigantes' five hits, raising his AVG to .320 through 50 AB. Guzman (19.3 y.o.) bounced back from his last start (7 ER in 2.1 IP) with perhaps his second best start this year.
