Richmond: SS Ehire Adrianza: 1 for 1

New Hampshire: SP Brett Cecil: 3.0 IP, 1 H, 1 K

Adrianza had the game's only hit through three innings. Reichard and the Blue Jays' Cecil, who has made all eight starts in the minors this year after making 65 starts in the majors over the last three seasons, had combined to face just one batter over the minimum through three innings.

A+: San Jose defeated Lancaster 11-5

San Jose: 1B Ricky Oropesa: 3 for 5, 2 HR
San Jose: 3B Adam Duvall: 3 for 5, 2B

San Jose: SP Jack Snodgrass: 7.0 IP, 10 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 7 K--1 HR
San Jose: RP Drew Bowlin: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Oropesa had his 5th and 6th HRs. Both he and Duvall had three hits, raising their respective AVGs to .262 and .280.

Snodgrass had a season-high 7 K. He also had his second straight start with 4 ER in 7.0 IP, but his ERA remains below 3.00. Bowlin, who missed the second half of April and all of May, pitched a perfect 8th inning in his eighth appearance this year.

A-: Augusta defeated Greensboro 2-1

Augusta: LF Shawn Payne: 2 for 4, SO, SB
Augusta: PH Ben Thomas: 1 for 1, 2B

Augusta: SP Chris Marlowe: 5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 5 K
Greensboro: SP Jose Fernandez: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K

Payne had two of the GreenJackets' six hits. He raised his AVG to .287 and had his 17th SB. Thomas's pinch-hit double in the bottom of the 9th inning scored both GreenJacket runs.

Coming off a season-high 5 BB in his previous start, Marlowe issued another 4 BB, but he allowed just 2 H and 1 R while pitching five full innings for just the third time in ten starts. Fernandez, whom the Marlins drafted 14th overall a year ago, had his third straight without allowing a run. His stat line for the season includes twice as many strikeouts as hits as he had 42 H, 16 BB and 85 K in 67.0 IP. By comparison, Matt Cain in his half season in the Sally League nine years ago, which included a couple more starts than Fernandez has so far, had 57 H, 24 BB and 90 K in 74.0 IP.

DSL: Giants lost to Diamondbacks/Reds 7-2

Dominican: C Fernando Pujadas: 1 for 3, BB
Dominican: RP Luis Castillo: 4.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K--1 WP

Pujadas (20.5 y.o.) was one of two Gigantes to reach base twice. Castillo (19.5 y.o), who happens to share the same name as today's opposing starting pitcher, provided long relief while appearing in his second pro game.
