Friday highlight from the Giants' farm: Jackson Williams homered among three hits.

AAA: Fresno lost to Sacramento 10-7

Fresno: DH Brock Bond: 3 for 4, 2B
Fresno: C Jackson Williams: 3 for 4, HR
Sacramento: LF Grant Green: 2 for 5, HR, 2B, SO

Fresno: SP Jason Stevenson: 2.0 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 1 K
Fresno: RP Mitch Liveley: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 4 R, 4 K--1 HB
Fresno: RP Jean Machi: 1.0 IP, 1 K

From the final two spots in the Grizzlies' batting order, Bond and Williams both had three hits, raising their respective AVGs to .412 and .243. Williams' three hits included his 5th HR this year and 3rd HR within his last five games. Green, one of the Athletics' top five prospects, had his 6th HR and 6th double.

Stevenson had his shortest start of the year, throwing 60 pitches (29 strikes) in 2.0 IP. Lively had an unusual line, allowing four unearned runs despite striking out four of his nine batters. He threw 42 pitches (27 strikes) in less than two innings as the first of five Grizzlies relievers. Machi threw a perfect 8th inning.

AA: Richmond hosting Erie suspending in the middle of the 2nd inning

Richmond: 1B Mark Minicozzi: 1 for 1, 2B

Richmond: SP Chris Heston: 2.0 IP, 1 BB, 1 K

Minicozzi doubled in his first plate appearance for Richmond. Heston faced the minimum six batters through two innings.

A+: San Jose lost to Bakersfield 10-4
(after allowing five insurance runs over the final two innings)

San Jose: LF Jarrett Parker: 3 for 4, 3B, SB, CS
Bakersfield: SS Billy Hamilton: 2 for 3, 3 BB, 3 SB, CS

San Jose: SP Jack Snodgrass: 7.0 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 3 K--1 HB
San Jose: RP Seth Rosin: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 1 K

Parker had three of the Giants' eleven hits, including his 3rd triple, raising his AVG to .234. Even with an AVG well above the Mendoza line, he still incredibly has twice as many strikeouts as hits. He has a 12/3 SB/CS line this year. The Reds' Hamilton reached base five times and now has 60 SB (vs 13 CS).

For the third time in ten starts, Snodgrass pitched seven full innings, but this time came up short of a so-called quality start. His ERA rose to 2.64. Rosin continues to scuffle. After retiring just one of his four batters, his ERA is above 5.50.

A-: Augusta lost to Asheville 6-1

Augusta: LF Shawn Payne: 2 for 4, 2 SB
Augusta: C Joseph Staley: 2 for 3, 2B

Augusta: SP Kevin Couture: 5.0 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 1 K--3 HR
Augusta: RP Jacob Dunnington: 1.0 IP, 2 K

Payne and Staley each had two of the GreenJackets' five hits, raising their respective AVGs to .292 and .229.

Making his fourth start since moving into the rotation, Couture allowed a season-high 6 ER. Making his season debut, Dunnington had 2 K in a perfect 8th inning.
