Sunday highlight from the Giants' farm: Brett Krill had five hits, including a HR. Also notable, reliever Derek Law had 7 K in 3.2 scoreless IP.

AAA: Fresno lost to Las Vegas 8-7
(after allowing five runs in the 8th inning)

Fresno: CF Justin Christian: 1 for 5, HR
Fresno: 1B Brett Pill: 2 for 4, BB
Las Vegas: 1B Adam Lind: 4 for 5, 2 2B

Fresno: SP Shawn Sanford: 5.0 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 0 K

Pill has had two hits in both games since being optioned to the minors. Christian had his 7th HR. Lind, whom the Blues Jays optioned to the minors a few weeks ago after he had a sub-.600 OPS through 118 AB to begin the season had four hits. Since being optioned to the minors, he has hit .405/.465/.583 through 84 AB.

Sanford made his fourth PCL start. The box score suggests he was too hittable with 7 H and 0 K, but he did pitch five complete innings after having just 4.0 IP in each of his previous two starts.

AA: Richmond defeated Portland 4-3
(rallying with all four runs in the 8th inning)

Richmond: RF Juan Perez: 1 for 2, 2B, 2 BB

Minicozzi had his first HR since joining the Flying Squirrels. Perez reached base three times, improving his season line to .282/.332/.407 through 177 AB.

Westcott followed up his best start of the year (8.0 scoreless IP) with an at least solid start. Over his last ten starts, he has an ERA below 3.00 but also an inverted K/BB ratio with 23 BB and 21 K in 61.0 IP. Bochy struck out four of his six batters. Fleet pitched a perfect 9th inning for his 3rd save.

A+: San Jose lost to Stockton 5-3

San Jose: C Andrew Susac: 1 for 4, HR, 2 SO
San Jose: DH Alex Burg: 1 for 3, HR, SO

San Jose: SP Ryan Bradley: 5.1 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K

Susac and Burg each had their 4th HR. With 3 HRs over his last ten games, Susac had raised his SLG to .365.

For the sixth time in his last seven starts, Bradley came up shy of a quality start, yet his season ERA after thirteen starts is just 3.76.

A-: Augusta defeated Rome 19-7

Augusta: DH Wes Hodges: 3 for 6, HR, 2B
Augusta: RF Brett Krill: 5 for 6, HR, 2 2B

Augusta: SP Joe Biagnini: 2.1 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 3 K
Augusta: RP Derek Law: 3.2 IP, 2 H, 7 K

Krill had a huge game with five of the GreenJackets' 24 hits. He had his 1st HR this year and finished with 7 RBIs. The 27-year-old Hodges, playing his fifth game with the GreenJackets, also homered.

For the fourth time in eight starts, Biagnini pitched less than three innings. He has had at least 4 BB in five of his eight starts, giving him a BB/IP of 0.85. Law, the first of three GreenJacket relievers, struck out 7 of his 13 batters. On the season his K/IP is just shy of 1.00.
