AAA: Fresno had an off-day

AA: Richmond lost to Reading 1-0

Richmond: CF Gary Brown: 0 for 3, BB, SO

Perez's single in the 5th inning was the Flying Squirrels' lone hit. Brown drew one of the Squirrels' three walks.

Heston's error on a pickoff attempt in the 2nd inning contributed to the game's only run. He lowered his ERA to 1.13. His peripheral stats are now 15 H, 6 BB and 17 K in 24.0 IP. May, the Phillies' top prospect, improved his W-L record to 4-0 with one of the best starts of his career. His peripheral stats through his first four starts in the upper minors are 12 H, 8 BB and 26 K in 23.0 IP--similar to Heston in terms of WHIP but with a much higher strikeout rate.

A+: San Jose hosting High Desert was postponed by rain
(A makeup doubleheader is scheduled for tomorrow.)

A-: Augusta lost to Kannapolis 4-2

Augusta: LF Shawn Payne: 1 for 2, 2 BB, 2 SB

Augusta: SP Edwin Escobar: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
Augusta: RP Keith Bilodeau: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Thomas had two of the GreenJackets' five hits. His five-game hitting streak has raised his AVG back above .250. With two of the team's five walks, Payne reached base three times. He also had his 5th and 6th SB and was the lone GreenJacket in the lineup not to strike out. Jones had his second straight oh-fer, hat trick game. In his last seven games, he has 16 SO and 2 H in 27 AB, along with 1 BB.

Making his third start of the season, this one on eight days rest, Escobar had an effective start. Allowing just one run, he brought his ERA below 2.00. Bilodeau pitched a perfect 8th inning.
