How the Miami Marlins could have had Buster Posey - South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com
Hee hee.
Head to head, the Marlins went 1-6 against the Giants in 2007. Instead of using that as a tiebreaker, or even an NFL-style coin flip, draft position was determined by going back to the previous season. The Marlins won 78 games that year, two more than the Giants. They would have been tied again, but on the season’s final day, the Marlins won their one-run game (over the Phillies) while the Giants lost theirs (to the Dodgers).
Here's the box score for the Giants' loss. If Brett Tomko doesn't pitch a scoreless inning for the Dodgers, the Giants might not have Buster Posey.

Buster Posey’s Case for NL MVP -- Giants Nirvana | SF Giants Blog
Julian gets all statty, and it's a good read, though he could have just typed "Seriously? You want evidence? I don't have time for this" and read a book.
Buster Posey a future third baseman? - SFGate
Never too early to freak out!
Most observers believe Buster Posey eventually will move to first base to protect his health and extend his career. Because Brandon Belt threw a monkey wrench into that notion with his ascent this season, there has been some fanciful chatter about Posey playing third base someday.
Buster Posey: San Francisco Giants' catcher was the epitome of an MVP - San Jose Mercury News
Here's a nice feature from Pavlovic. I especially liked this part:
While Posey is said to be, along with Matt Cain, the lead speaker in team meetings, he rarely raises his voice and is careful with what he says publicly. But Posey was forceful the day Cabrera was suspended, saying the Giants had to "approach the rest of the year with a chip on our shoulders."

There's quite the consensus around the baseball-nerd community, and I'm thinking it's the same thing in the mainstream. This is probably gonna happen, just like we all predicted last June.
Buster F. Posey
From David Schoenfield's nice article on what to watch in the post season, here's Posey's heat map in the second half. Golly.
