Nationals Win, Giants Taking on Reds in NLDS

Give him the ball, Dusty. Give Bronson Arroyo the game ball and patt him on the butt.

The Washington Nationals won their game against the Phillies on Wednesday, which guarantees them at least a tie for the best record in baseball. The Reds can match the record, but the Nationals hold the tiebreaker, so it's confirmed: The Reds and Giants will play in the National League Division Series.

There are a lot of different ways to prepare. Punching a cardboard cutout of Mat Latos, for one. Or punching the actual Mat Latos for another. You can do that, I mean. I'll abstain. The dude's like 6'8" or something.

Dusty Baker will return to AT&T Park for a playoff series for the first time in 10 years. The last playoff game he managed for the Giants was a 16-4 shellacking of the Angels. Good times, good times. All the Giants had to do was win one more game on the road. That's a .500 winning percentage, which is just average, right?

The Reds were the runaway winner of the Reds/Nationals who'd-you-rather-face poll, so I guess the majority is happy with this. And if the Braves and Cardinals could knock off the Nationals, that'd be swell, if only for the extra home game in the NLCS.
