The Grizzlies scored all four runs on HRs. First, Gonzalez's 14th HR scored two runs in the 6th inning. In the 7th inning, Ramirez and LaTorre went back-to-back with their 11th and 4th HRs.
Maday allowed 5 ER for the second time in three PCL starts. Dowdy had one of his best appearances of the year, but his ERA remains over 5.00 after 35 PCL appearances.

Peguero's three hits raised his AVG to .317, and his 10th double was the Flying Squirrels' only XBH. Stromsmoe also reached base three times, improving his OBP to .375 after 171 AB.
Making a spot start on two days rest, Rodriguez retired just half of his sixteen batters. Schumer provided effective long relief with 3.0 scoreless IP.
A+: San Jose lost to Rancho Cucamonga 7-5

Jurica's three hits improved his line to .250/.356/.390 through 172 AB in the Cal League. Burg had his 11th HR.
Allowing three runs in both the 1st and 4th innings, Westcott had one of his least effective starts of the season. After a 2.09 ERA in a dozen first half starts, he has had a 4.15 ERA in his dozen second half starts.

Harris had one of his biggest games of the year with his 14th HR, 25th double and a couple singles. Villegas was one of three other GreenJackets with two hits, which raised his AVG above the Mendoza line.
The line from Rodriguez's second start since returning to the rotation was quite impressive as he faced the minimum eighteen batters in 6.0 scoreless IP.

Downing and Thomas each had two of the Volcanoes' ten hits (all singles). Both hitters have an AVG above .300.
Roinbal had one of his shortest starts of the year. After having just 11 BB through his first eleven starts, he has had 3 BB in two of last three starts, causing his K/BB to dip just below 3.00.
