Reno: CF Ryan Langerhans: 4 for 5, 2 HR, BB
Fresno: SP Andrew Kown: 6.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 7 K
Pill and Gonzalez each had three of the Grizzlies' fifteen hits, including their 21st and 10th HRs. Langerhans, whom the Diamondbacks just acquired from the Mariners, had a huge game in his third game with his new organization.
Kown had a quality start for just the second time in his last eight starts. Still, his ERA is just 4.53, in large part due to his superb May (2.00 ERA in six starts).
AA: Richmond defeated Trenton 5-0
(scoring one run in each of the first four innings)
Richmond: RF Francisco Peguero: 2 for 5, 2 3B
Richmond: 1B Wes Hodges: 3 for 4, 2B
Richmond: SP Clayton Tanner: 8.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K
Peguero had his 3rd and 4th triples of the year. He has not shown much secondary average this year, albeit for different reasons. With San Jose, he had just 4 XBH but 7 BB among 68 AB; with Richmond, he has had 12 XBH but just 3 BB among 146 AB. Hodges' three hits lifted his AVG to .323.
Tanner had perhaps his best game of the year, facing just three batters over the minimum in 8.0 shutout IP. He had a 10/4 GO/FO line. His ERA remains a bit over 4.00.

With three of the Giants' eleven hits, including his 5th triple, Cavan reached base four times. Brown and Adrianza were two of three other Giants to reach base three times.
Marte had his second straight start with just 1 ER. His last eight performances have been inconsistent with 5+ ER in three starts and 1 ER or less in four starts. Tonight's start also included an 8/2 GO/FO line.

Augusta: RP Andrew Bowlin: 2.0 IP, 1 K
Lofton had two of the GreenJackets' five hits. He finished the month hitting .299/.358/.361 in 97 AB. Weeks reached base three times.
Kickham's season seems to be trending in the wrong direction. His ERAs have steadily increased from 3.00 in May (4 starts) to 4.56 in June (5 starts) to 6.75 in July (6 starts). Conversely, Bowlin finished July allowing just 1 ER in 15.0 IP over ten appearances.

Three Volcanoes homered--Staley with his 6th HR, Krill with his 5th HR, and Brock with his 1st HR. Jones had his only XBH of the month (in 11 games).
Flores' ninth start was perhaps his least effective start of the year as he allowed a season-high 10 H and a season-high 5 ER. His ERA rose to 4.87. After 2 K in a perfect 9th inning, Hall has 18 K in his last 10.0 IP.
