Wednesday highlights from the Giants' farm: Gary Brown doubled twice among three hits, and Charlie Culberson singled in both of his all-star plate appearances.

AAA: Fresno had the final day of its three-day all-star break
(The Pacific Coast League all-stars lost to the International League all-stars 3-0.)

Pacific Coast: 1B David Cooper: 1 for 1, BB
International: 3B Russ Canzler: 1 for 4, HR

Pacific Coast: RP Andrew Kown: 1.0 IP

The Blue Jays' Cooper reached base in both of his plate appearances, with his single being one of just three hits (all singles) for the PCL.  The Rays' Canzler's three-run, two-out HR in the 2nd inning scored the games only runs.

Kown, the lone Giants' farmhand to appear in the game, pitched a perfect 5th inning.

AA: Richmond had the second day of its two-day all-star break
(The Western Division all-stars defeated the Eastern Division all-stars 8-4.)

The Giants' three hitters--Kieschnick, who played the whole game, and Culberson and Monell, both of whom entered as reserves--combined for five of the West's eleven hits.  Culberson and Kieschnick were the West's only two hitters with two hits.

The Giants' Fitzgerald pitched a perfect 3rd inning.  Banuelos, the Yankees' top pitching prospect, was one of two pitchers to strike out all three batters he faced.

(rallying for three runs in the top of the 9th inning)

Brown had three hits, including his 22nd and 23rd doubles.  Joseph also had two doubles, his 19th and 20th doubles.  Adrianza was the third Giant with two hits.  With two walks, Belt joined Brown in reaching base three times.

In his second start, Lofgren allowed two earned runs in both the 4th and 5th innings.  Reichard pitched a perfect 8th inning.  Holmberg, a second round pick two years ago, has emerged as one of the Diamondbacks' better prospects this year.  In his third Cal League start, the nineteen-year-old allowed 1 ER in 6.0 IP.

ssA: Salem-Keizer lost to Yakima 5-2

Salem-Keizer: SP Cameron Lamb: 6.0 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 0 BB, 4 K--1 HB

With two hits each, Murray and Buechele accounted for four of the Volcanoes' six hits.  Murray's seventh straight multi-hit game raised his AVG to .446.  Buechele's AVG is .267.

A three-run 5th inning contributed towards raising Lamb's ERA above 4.50.  He did have an 11/0 GO/FO line.

R: Giants lost to Royals 7-3

Scottsdale: RP Derek Law: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Tomlinson, the Giants' 12th rounder this year, reached base three times.  De La Cruz, who had 1 HR in the AZL last year, had his 1st HR of this year.

Gregorio had a season-high 3 BB in his fifth start, while matching season lows with 3.2 IP and 1 K.  Law, the Giants' 9th rounder this year, pitched a perfect 6th inning in his pro debut.

DSL: Giants lost to Mets1 5-3

Dominican: 2B Alberto Robles: 1 for 3, BB, SO
Dominican: SP Enmanuel De Jesus: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 9 K--1 WP

Robles (20.9 y.o.) was the lone Gigante to reach base twice.  De Jesus (17.6 y.o.) had his second straight dominant start.  Over his last two starts, he has 7 H, 1 BB, 1 R, and 19 K in 12.0 IP.
