Monday highlight from the Giants' farm: Mike Murry homered as part of another multi-hit performance.

Dominguez had three of the Flying Squirrels' eleven hits, improving his AVG to .318.  In June, 12 of his 16 Eastern League hits were for extra bases; now in July, just 1 of his 12 hits has been for extra bases.  Monell also reached base three times.

Maday allowed just four hits, but two of those hits were a three-run HR and a two-run HR.  His ERA rose to 4.38 as his W-L record dropped to 2-7.  Stoffel had 2 K in a perfect 9th inning.  Martis, the former Giants' farmhand now with the Nationals, had a quality start with 10 K against his former organization.  The 24-year-old has a 2.70 ERA through fourteen starts this year.

Murry had his 5th HR as part of his sixth straight multi-hit game.  Through twenty games, he is hitting .440/.470/.653 in 75 AB.  Payne's two hits raised his AVG to .257.

After allowing just 4 ER in his first three starts, Mendoza has allowed 11 ER in his subsequent two starts.

Batting leadoff, Paulino reached base in all five plate appearances, improving upon the .311 OBP with which he entered the game.  Cuevas had his 4th HR and 2nd double.

Escobar had allowed just 4 ER over his first four starts in (in 12.1 IP) but allowed 4 more ER in his fifth start.  All four runs came in the 1st inning.  Simpson, whom the Cubs drafted 16th overall last year, has now allowed 8 ER in 4.1 IP in his two AZL starts, both against the rookie Giants.
