Sunday highlights from the Giants' farm: Shane Loux pitched a seven-inning shutout, both Zack Wheeler and Shawn Sanford allowed just 1 ER in 7.0 IP, James Simmons had 2 HRs, and Tommy Joseph homered among three hits.

AAA: Fresno defeated Las Vegas 3-0 (7 innings) in game 1

Fresno: CF Tyler Graham: 2 for 3, 2 SB
Fresno: 3B Edgar Gonzalez: 1 for 3, HR

Fresno: SP Shane Loux: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K

Graham had two of the Grizzlies' four hits, raising his AVG to .279.  He also had his 27th and 28th SBs.  Gonzalez had his 4th HR.

Loux had his most effective start of the year, pitching the CG SHO.  This was his second time in eleven starts not allowing an earned run, getting his ERA below 4.00.

Simmons, who in his sixth pro season has now reached the upper minors, had a pair of solo HRs.  Pill, who had his 10th HR, and Neal also reached base twice.

Yourkin began with 4.0 scoreless IP but then did not retire any of his five batters in the 5th inning.  Ray stranded the runner inherited from Yourkin to preserve the lead and finished with 2.0 perfect IP.  Kroon had 3 K in route to his 13th save.

AA: Richmond defeated Reading 6-4

Lormand, a utility infielder, had three hits to raise his AVG to .196.  With two hits each, Flores and Monell got their AVGs above .200.

Maday, who has averaged 5.5 innings/start, had his third quality start in ten starts this year.  Stoffel got his 9th save.

A+: San Jose defeated Stockton 5-1

With three hits, Joseph had the Giants' lone multi-hit line, raising his AVG to .232.  He had his 5th HR.  Later Dominguez added his 10th HR.  Brown had an unremarkable line.

Making his third straight start against the Ports, Wheeler matched a season-high with 7.0 IP while also matching a season low with 3 K.  Overall, he lowered his ERA to 3.40.  Correa and Lofgren each pitched a perfect inning to finish out the game.

A-: Augusta defeated Charleston 4-2

Adrianza and Duvall both had a couple XBHs, while the rest of the lineup managed just three hits.  Heathcott, the Yankees' first round selection two years ago, led off the game with his 4th HR before adding two singles later in the game.  His season line is now .290/.364/.457 through 186 AB.

Sanford allowed the leadoff HR but then pitched seven scoreless frames thereafter, lowering his ERA to 2.59.  The 3 H was his season low in nine starts.
