Kieschnick was the lone Flying Squirrel to reach base twice.  His season line is now .241/.290/.359 through 195 AB.

Fitzgerald matched a season high with 7.0 IP but also matched a season low with 2 K.  In his eleventh start, he finally allowed his 1st HR this year.  Overall, he maintained his ERA just below 3.00. Otero pitched a perfect 9th inning for his 1st save.  Two years ago, he had 19 saves in this league before an injury ended his season and cost him much of last season.

Asheville: SP Tyler Matzek: 3.2 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 5 BB, 4 K--1 HR

Duvall had his 13th and 14th HRs, driving in four of the GreenJackets' five runs.  Arnold was the other GreenJacket with two hits, including his 11th double.  Parker, the Rockies' first round pick a year ago (26th overall), was the game's lone hitter with three hits, one of which was his 7th HR.

Santiago's third start was ineffective.  Rodriguez was more effective in long relief.  Both pitchers now have ERAs close to 4.85.  Matzek, the Rockies' first round pick two years ago, continues to scuffle.  This was his first start since just being demoted back to the Sally League.
