Friday highlights from the Giants' farm: Kevlin Marte combined with three relievers for a three-hit, thirteen-inning shutout, and Roger Kieschnick homered and singled.

AAA: Fresno lost to Salt Lake 6-5

Fresno: 2B Mike Fontenot: 1 for 1, BB
Fresno: DH Thomas Neal: 2 for 4, BB, 2 SO, CS

Fresno: SP Shane Loux: 6.0 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K

Neal had the Grizzlies' lone multi-hit line, getting his AVG back to .340.  Fontenot reached base in both of his plate appearance before being removed for a pinch hitter in the 4th inning.

Loux matched a season high with 9 H but allowed just 1 ER.  Two straight quality starts have lowered his ERA to 3.74.

AA: Richmond lost to New Hampshire 6-2

Richmond: RF Roger Kieschnick: 2 for 4, HR

Richmond: SP Justin Fitzgerald: 3.1 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
Richmond: RP Danny Otero: 1.0 IP, 2 K

Culberson and Kieschnick, who combined for three of the Flying Squirrels' four hits, both had their 4th HRs of the year.

Fitzgerald had his shortest start of the year with just 3.1 IP.  His ERA remains below 3.50, though.  Otero had 2 K in a perfect 8th inning.

San Jose: SP Kelvin Marte: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K--1 WP

San Jose: RP Mitch Lively: 3.0 IP, 2 BB, 6 K
San Jose: RP Heath Hembree: 1.0 IP, 1 BB, 1 K

Joseph's 9th and 10th doubles were two of the Giants' five hits, raising his AVG to .240.  For the second time this week, Brown had a hat trick while serving as the DH.  The oh-fer dropped his AVG to .352.

Marte had perhaps his best start of the year with 7.0 shutout IP, lowering his ERA to 2.36.  He combined with three relievers for a three-hit shutout, and those three relievers--Correa, Lively, and Hembree--combined for 6.0 no-hit IP.

A-: Augusta lost to Savannah 8-1

With half of the GreenJackets' six hits, including both of their XBHs, Duvall improved his season line to .254/.352/.513 through 228 AB.

Santiago began with three scoreless frames but allowed 3 ER in the 4th inning.  After a scoreless 5th inning, Rosin retired just four of five batters in the 5th inning.

DSL: Giants lost to Braves 4-3

Dominican: SS Rando Moreno: 2 for 4, 3B, BB, SO
Dominican: SP Yeini Martinez: 8.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K--1 HB, 1 WP

Moreno (19.0 y.o.), playing in his third pro game, reached base three times.  Assuming the box score is correct, Martinez (20.6 y.o.) followed up two relief appearances with the longest start by any of the Gigantes' pitchers this year.
