Sunday highlights from the Giants' farm: Craig Westcott had 7.0 no-hit IP, and Clayton Tanner was perfect through 6.0 IP before allowing a few baserunners in the 7th inning.  Also notable, Justin Christian and Drew Biery each homered as one of their two hits.

AAA: Fresno lost to New Orleans 5-2
(after the game was tied 2-2 through seven innings)

Fresno: CF Tyler Graham: 2 for 4, 3B, BB, SO, SB
Fresno: LF Brandon Belt: 1 for 4, SO

Fresno: SP Doug Mathis: 6.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K--1 HR
New Orleans: SP Sean West: 3.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K--1 HB

Graham had two of the Grizzlies' seven hits, and his 2nd triple was their only XBH.  He also had his 20th SB.  Top prospect Belt had an unremarkable line.

Mathis had his fourth straight quality start.  With just 3 R in his last four starts, he has brought his ERA below 3.50.  The Marlins' West made his second start of the year, throwing 42 of 60 pitches for strikes.

AA: Richmond defeated Reading 3-2

Richmond: LF Justin Christian: 2 for 4, HR

Richmond: SP Clayton Tanner: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K--1 HR
Richmond: RP Jason Stoffel: 0.2 IP, 1 K

With two hits, Christian was the lone Flying Squirrel to reach base twice.  His 2nd HR of the year broke a 2-2 tie in the 8th inning.

Tanner was perfect though six innings before yielding a couple runs in the 7th inning.  He finally earned his first win of the year, and Stoffel got his 7th save.

A+: San Jose defeated Stockton 5-0
(after adding four insurance runs in the 8th inning)

San Jose: CF Gary Brown: 1 for 4, HR, HBP, SO, SB
San Jose: SS Brandon Crawford: 1 for 4, HR
San Jose: 2B Ryan Cavan: 2 for 4, 2B

San Jose: SP Craig Westcott: 7.0 IP, 3 BB, 5 K--1 HB

Brown scored the game's first run when he led off the 6th inning with his 5th HR.  In the 8th inning, Crawford had his 2nd HR.  Cavan was one of two Giants with a mutli-hit line.

Westcott combined with two relievers for a shutout.  Westcott had his most effective start of the year which included a 14/2 GO/FO line.  The Ports did not manage a hit until the 9th inning.  Both the 5 K and 3 BB were season highs.  For the season, Westcott's K/IP remains below 0.50, though.

A-: Augusta lost to Charleston 5-2

Augusta: 1B Drew Biery: 2 for 4, HR

Augusta: SP Taylor Rogers: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K--1 HB
Augusta: RP Edward Concepcion: 1.0 IP, 1 K

One of four GreenJackets with a multi-hit line, Biery had his 3rd HR.  The 25-year-old has played in just a dozen games after missing the first month plus of the season.

Rogers had his second straight start with 5 H and 5 K in 7.0 IP but this time allowed a couple runs.  Today he had an 11/2 GO/FO line.  His ERA stands at 2.58 after eight starts.  Concepcion worked a perfect 8th inning.
