Monday highlights from the Giants' farm: Eric Surkamp had 10 K for the third time in five starts, Andrew Kown had 7.0 shutout IP, Brandon Belt had four hits, and Luke Anders homered while reaching base three times.

AAA: Fresno defeated Colorado Springs 6-0

Belt and Bond combined for seven of the Grizzlies' eleven hits, raising their respective AVGs to .517 and .246.

Kown's fifth start was his most effective start of the year, including a new season-high 7.0 IP and a new season-low 0 R, as well as matching a season-low 3 H.  And he did it at altitude, although the wind was blowing in at 7 mph from RF.  Making his first appearance of the season, Romero completed the shutout.

Christian and Perez each had three of the Flying Squirrels' eleven hits, raising their respective AVGs to .287 and .244.  Monell had the oh-fer with the hat trick.  Over his last nine games, he has 15 SO in 35 AB, raising his SO/AB for the season above 30%.

For the third time in five starts, Surkamp had 10 K.  For the season, he now has 22 H, 12 BB, and 41 K in 26.1 IP.  He easily leads the Eastern League in strikeouts (with the Indians' Kelvin De La Cruz second with 32 K).

Anders had his 4th HR while reaching base three times.  Parker's three hits raised his AVG to .240  Both Joseph and Sanchez had an oh-fer with a hat trick.  They entered the game with SO/AB ratios of 22% and 17%, respectively.

Making his fifth start, Heston allowed a season-high 4 R, but he still has yet to allow more than 3 ER in any start.  He also matched a season-high with 6 K.  This was his first start this year with more flyouts than groundouts (4/5 GO/FO line).  Lively had 2.1 perfect IP in relief.  Casilla retired just three of his seven batters as he took his 4th loss of the year.

Scoma had the GreenJackets' only hit their first time through the order.

Rodriguez retired just two of the eight batters he faced, including none of the batters he faced in the 2nd inning before the game was suspended.
