Panda & The Freak Song by The Baseball Project
In case you missed the FanShot, The Baseball Project (with members of R.E.M., Young Fresh Fellows, and Dream Syndicate) did a song titled "Panda & the Freak." It's either about Pablo Sandoval and Tim Lincecum, or it's about the time they found their uncle's red sports car in a future where sports cars are prohibited. At least, that's what I can gather from the title.
- A baseball wife emerges from the dugout - CNN.com
One of the crazier stories I've read in a while. The preeminent baseball historian of his time was lifting his wife's original, groundbreaking work without appropriation. I'm sure we've all done that at one time or another, right? It's "Mad Men" combined with "Field of Dreams" without the uplifting ending.
- Project Prospect's Prospect Project
That's not the name for their Digital Prospect Guide, but they didn't ask me. It's pretty cool -- a .pdf with video links built right in for their top 100 prospects. Brandon Belt and Zach Wheeler made the cut. Definitely worth checking out.

All the Mike Fontenot tidbits that are fit to post. And, yeah, I saw the FanShot with this link, but I was working on this first. Sit on it, Potsie.

Scenes from Spring Training: The Giants are relaxed | HardballTalk
Craig Calcaterra has some cool notes from the first Giants game of the spring. The best part: "Ishikawa to Tejada: 'Third? I thought that was for the best hitter on the team. What are you doing hitting third?' Tejada to Ishikawa: 'Not hitting ninth.'
