The San Francisco Giants have still won the World Series, sources have confirmed. Here are some applicable links.
San Francisco Giants Fans Celebrate Their World Series Championship - Bay Bridge Banter - SB Nation Bay Area
I wonder what the YouTube clips would have looked like after Glaus's double in 2002.
SF Giants say title is for their teams of past
"I had to get out of here for a minute because I'm not used to getting emotional like this."
Willie Mays. I mean, come on.
SF Giants add 'champions' to storied legacy
"'It's been a long time,' someone said nearby. 'A long time?' (J.T.) Snow, said, incredulously. 'It's been never!'"
Not quite the same emotional heft as Willie Mays, but a very cool quote.
Sports Illustrated
In case you haven't seen it, the cover of the next Sports Illustrated is pretty cool.
"The Giants certainly can and should look to upgrade with a better two-way player in left field. I can think of one guy who matches that criteria, and yes, I’m told the Giants will entertain the notion of signing Carl Crawford."
Let the rosterbation begin! Fapfapfapfapfap. Maybe Crawford will help win the Giants win their first World Series title in San Francisco!
Wait, what?
YouTube - "Lights" - Giants fans sing along - World Series Game 2
I posted this in one of the overflow threads, but as weird as it seems, this was the first time I really thought the Giants would win the World Series. If Steve Perry is for us, who could be against us?
Even though I'm not the hugest Journey aficionado, I immediately started belting this out at the top of my lungs as soon as it came on. Now that I've seen the video, I realize that I wasn't the only one going goofy from the first note. Journey causes opposing bullpens to melt into puddles of Blassian wildness. Science.
Police give Barry Bonds a ticket as Giants celebrated their title - San Jose Mercury News
"Police in West Hollywood pulled Bonds over and ticketed him at around 10 p.m. for talking on his cell phone while driving, TMZ.com reported."
You think a San Francisco cop would have issued that ticket on Monday night? You move to Mordor, you deal with the orcs.
Baseball "Experts" & 49 States Looking Pretty Bad After Picking Rangers - SB Nation Bay Area
A clipping from McCovey Chronicles that links to a link that links to clippings from McCovey Chronicles. It's worth it to keep laughing at those MS Paint masterpieces
Want to see Giants victory parade? Take public transit, get there early - San Jose Mercury News
On September 30th, a co-worker asked me what the deal was with the Giants and the playoffs. Were they close to making it or something? On November 2nd, the same co-worker asked me if I was going to the parade too. It was then that I realized how much of a nonsense bog this parade was going to be, and that if I wanted to go, that I needed to leave before the end of Game Four.
BASEBALL; Look What Wind Blew Back: Baseball's Giants - New York Times
"National League club owners today soundly rejected a move of the San Francisco Giants to St. Petersburg, Fla., handing the Tampa Bay area its seventh setback in seven attempts to attract a major league baseball team. The owners, in a secret ballot that required 10 votes for approval, voted 9-4 against allowing Bob Lurie, the Giants' owner, to sell the team for $115 million to the Tampa Bay group, which would have moved the Giants to the Florida Suncoast Dome in time for next season."
Never forget.
"The Giants have entered the bidding for free-agent superstar Manny Ramirez, SI.com has confirmed. KPIX-TV reported Friday that the Giants have made a three-year offer with an option for a fourth year."
Retro lulz.
Ryan Sadowski congratulates the Giants
I don't know why this is one of my favorite links of the bunch, but it is. So earnest. So awesome. I'll just leave this here.
