Connecticut: RHP Mitch Lively: 3.0 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 K
Connecticut: LHP Dan Runzler: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K
McBryde has had a big series against the B-Mets. On Saturday, he had three hits, then four hits on Sunday, and then finally five hits on Monday. With twelve hits, including four doubles, in his last three games, he has improved his Eastern League line to .299/.337/.412 through 284 AB. Schoop had the Defenders' other multi-hit line, which included his 3rd HR.
English has apparently struggled to find the strike zone in his recent starts. In his last three starts, he has 15 BB and 3 K in 11.2 IP, as well as 13 H and 10 ER. Lively provided effective long relief. He did allow two of three inherited runners to score but otherwise improved his own ERA to 0.55. Runzler pitched a scoreless 7th inning despite retiring just three of the six batters he faced.

Peguero and Culberson each had two of the GreenJackets' six hits. Peguero has a very impressive .370 AVG, while Culberson's AVG is just .243. Peguero also had two outfield assists, throwing out one runner at the plate and another at second base.
Surkamp had perhaps a season-high 10 K. Other than a rain-shorted start of 3.0 IP, this was his only start in his last ten games with fewer hits than innings, lowering his BAA to .275. After a scoreless 9th inning, Quirarte allowed five runs in the 10th inning.

Crawford and Dominguez each had their 4th double. The Volcanoes sent just three batters over the minimum to the plate as their offense was limited to four hits and a walk. Stassi, whom the Athletics convinced to sign with a $1.5 million signing bonus a few days ago, played three innings in his pro debut.
Toole had a short but effective start, at least if you ignore the couple unearned runs. Moran had 2 K in a perfect 9th inning. The 20-year-old Ramos has perhaps the best start of his young pro career.
