In case you weren't in the second-day draft thread, the Giants used their 13th-round pick on Juan Carlos Perez, an outfielder from Western Oklahoma State College. It's a Division II school, so he was putting his numbers up against Otero, Seminole, and Carl Albert State College, but, man, what numbers:
BA AB H HR SLG BB OBP SB
.465 215 100 37 1.102 26 .530 29
Now, obviously, those stats aren't going to just translate right over, so I propose the following progression:
Short-season A: .450/.520/1.005
Low-A: .425/.505/.975
High-A: .410/.495/.900
AA: .395/.470/.870
AAA: .375/.455/.825
Rookie season in the majors: .355/.440/.765
I don't see how that is unrealistic in any way.
