The GreenJackets, who had the best regular season record in all of minor league baseball this year, could not muster much offense, particularly with the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th hitters in the lineup going a combined 1 for 16 with a double and 10 strikeouts.  Facing a lefty, Abreu got the start in favor of Anthony Contreras.  Abreu, Sandoval and Richardson each reached base twice.  The Greenjackets could not come up with the clutch hits as they stranded 6 RiSP.  For the Phillies' affiliate, Spidale and Slayden, who had a trio of hits in the final playoff game, led the team in postseason AVG, Spidale at .333 and Slayden at .250.

Shaver had his sinker working well enough for a 10/3 GO/FO line.  For the season, Shaver had a 2.30 GO/FO ratio.  However, it was not enough to keep Lakewood off the board.  The 2-run rally in the 1st inning began with a one-out walk; the 3-run rally in the 5th inning with a one-out walk.  The Augusta Chronicle says that Shaver did pitch better than his line in the box score would indicate.  Another scoreless relief appearance for Millikan, who allowed only one ER after mid-July.  He did, however, allow both inherited runners to score.  For Lakewood, Maloney, the SAL pitcher of the year, was dominant enough with a career high 12 K to shutout the GreenJackets to clinch in the SAL championship.

ssA: Salem-Keizer won the NWL title on Sunday September 10

R: Scottsdale finished its season on August 29
