The Denver Post had a couple of Giants-related tidbits from a couple of days ago that weren't covered here.
- The Yankees and Giants are "aggressively negotiating to land Rich Aurilia on a multi-year deal." Hmm. I'm not wild on "multi-year", but I am impressed at Aurilia's proven ability to not be Pedro Feliz.
- Buried in the story is the mention of Giant interest in Craig Counsell. Ker-barf. He wouldn't be bad on a team without a shortstop, but isn't exactly the greatest replacement for Ray Durham. If the Giants sign Matthews Jr. and Counsell to effectively supplant Winn and Frandsen, it'd be like stocking up on Speedos before a nuclear winter.
