On a scale of one to ten, with one being completely uninterested and ten being incapacitated with delight, how excited do you get about a Giants player hitting for the cycle?
I'll go six. I know hitting for the cycle is nothing but a curiosity, and that's the reason for the downgrade. But when a guy is a triple short and you see the ball go in the gap, that's pretty intense.
According to some guy on a random internet board, which is the sort of person you should always trust blindly, there is as much chance of a pitcher throwing a no-hitter as there is a player hitting for a cycle. I've seen Robby Thompson hit for the cycle, I've seen Jeff Kent hit for the cycle, and now I've watched Randy Winn do it. Yet the Giants still haven't thrown a no-hitter since I was born. Weak.
