The choice....

New, 13 comments

I listened to yesterday's game on the radio, but I also have it recorded at my house. I could watch it right now.

In about thirty minutes, I have a dental appointment. I'm terrified of the dentist. I have been avoiding this day for years. As a result, I'm pretty sure there is a colony of bats taking residence in my back left molar. Today they're evicted, and there is going to be something done about the tooth. It's going to hurt.

So, here's how I see it. As an adult, and one who has at least the illusion of free will, I am choosing to go to the dentist over watching yesterday's game. It is well within my powers and rights to skip the dentist, and watch the game from yesterday.

This isn't a zero-sum affair, of course. I could skip the dentist and read a romance novel, or something. But there is a very legitimate way to whittle the day down to a choice between the dentist and the game.

Giants scoring one run in Coors Field...hrmm....

Dentist scraping, gouging, scything, drilling, and jabbing....hrmmm....

The game....

The dentist....

I think I have to go with the dentist on this one. Yep. No contest.
