"What's my opinion of Kingman's performance!? What the fuck do you think is my opinion of it? I think it was fucking horseshit! Put that in, I don't fucking care. Opinion of his performance!? Jesus Christ, he beat us with three fucking home runs! What the fuck do you mean, 'What is my opinion of his performance?' How could you ask me a question like that, 'What is my opinion of his performance?' Jesus Christ, he hit three home runs! Jesus Christ! I'm fucking pissed off to lose the fucking game. And you ask me my opinion of his performance! Jesus Christ. That's a tough question to ask me, isn't it? 'What is my opinion of his performance?'" -- Tommy Lasorda (AKA Dickface) in response to a question from reporter Paul Olden about slugger Dave Kingman's hitting three home runs during a May 14, 1978 10-7 victory by the Cubs over the Dodgers.

The Baseball Analyst Ranks Cain and Lincecum
We continue our three-part series on the Best Young Players in Baseball. Unlike most prospect lists, players are categorized by age and major leaguers are also eligible for inclusion.
Matt is the third best 23 year old in the MLB (best pitcher), and Lincecum, who is slightly older, is the 8th best among 24 year olds.
What do you think?

Kawakami Strikes Back
"I assume it's happening all over the Giants' blog world, not just at the fine fan site the McCovey Chronicles, though that is a particularly point-by-point blasting of me and my argument that the Giants should trade Tim Lincecum for Alex Rios."
Then he explains why he still thinks it's a good deal, and says things like "so it's sort of ridiculous to say, Rios = Winn, no?", even though no one ever said that. At least he's not being a jerk about it.

Bonds Gets An Offer (kind of..)
"Barry Bonds has a public offer on the free-agent market -- from the independent Washington Wild Things, who play not far from where Bonds began his major league career in Pittsburgh.
Bonds, who made about $16 million last season for the Giants, would have to settle for the independent Frontier League's maximum salary of $1,200(!) per month."
And the best part: The Wild Things are offering "a pledge to find a host family for Bonds so he doesn't have to rent an apartment in this southwestern Pennsylvania city."
Sooo... You think he'll take it?
