Open Gameday Thread, 8/27

If you're going to the game tonight, and you happened to see a person reading a magical textbook -- one that hops around and sings lessons to the reader when he or she is alone -- that was me! Of course, the book wasn't singing at the time because I was around other people. Also, I was not promised that the book did, in fact, hop around or sing lessons. I'm just assuming this because that's what I expect from books for which I pay $100. I should be in for a treat tonight.

And on a totally unrelated note, there's only one way for this contest to end if I am to maintain faith in democracy.

Actually, I caught my sister saying "y'all" and ripped on her for about a half hour.

Intent is important.  I use tons of hood slang that I would never use with a straight face.  My sister actually argued with me for some time that "y'all" was actually acceptable to say.

Also, she has used "Frisco."  Really, San Jose might as well be L.A.

last blown save was that homer to A-Rod on June 23. his only other blown save was on May 9 against the Mets.

I have lost a little respect for the "save" as a stat, however, when I saw that Wes Littleton got a "save" in that 30-3 game the other day.
