Benitez
Hopefully with SF, if not, then he becomes a valuable trading commodity. Keep up the good work Big Fella. Nice HR to RCF Senor Feliz. Great win. Beat LA!!!

Re: The Race To 50!
And encouraging that they scored 5 runs last night, 6 tonight.  Tomorrow, against Penny, will be a big test.

Re: The Race To 50!
Why will Penny be a tough test?  If the Giants are worth even two cents they would clearly enjoy a huge advantage.  :)

Re: The Race To 50!
At some point, they'll stop pitching to Bonds.  And, at some point, Roberts will actually get on base more often than he is now.
Adopting Dave Roberts since 2007

Re: The Race To 50!
Less pitching to Bonds and more getting on base by Roberts (and Vizquel) would be a nice tradeoff, assuming the batters behind and immediately ahead of Barry come through in decent fashion.

Re: The Race To 50!
I say Pedro gets to 50 strikeouts before june.

Maybe Linden, too. He's gobbling them in batches.

Re: The Race To 50!
OK, you're on.  $100 says he (Pedro) doesn't have 50 Ks by June 1.

Re: The Race To 50!
Pedro won't get to 50 strikeouts before June -- at least not before THIS June.  Before July, possibly.  But that assumes he is playing more than you would probably like him to play.  :)

Re: The Race To 50!
If Roberts plays against both RHP and LHP like he mostly has been, I think 50 steals is well within reach.

Kinda nice having a base stealer that doesn't get caught, huh?  (Even though he probably did get caught last night.)

The force is strong in Ryan Klesko. We'll rule the galaxy as father and son. 296/345/407 as of 4/24/07

Re: The Race To 50!
And according to Jon Miller, Nomah didn't get caught in the 6th, even though the umpire said he did. Between the shoddy calls and Lowry's walk-a-thon, I think this counts as a lucky win.
Jesse Foppert: Welcome home, my son. And meet your adopted brother, Kelvin Pichardo. He's from the Dominican Republic.

Wow, this poll is linked on Deadspin.  Good going, rainman.

Re: The Race To 50!
These results make it pretty clear that 5-for-5 isn't nearly enough to make us believe in Mando:

Barry and Armando!         1 vote - 1 %
Dave and Armando!       2 votes - 2 %
Benitez Only!       1 vote - 1 %

Only 4 total votes for Benitez hitting the 50-save mark.

Re: The Race To 50!
You missed the 13 votes in the "All Three" answer.
The total is 17 votes for Benitez not just 4.

Oh right...good point.

Err, that is, I meant to say...I deliberately excluded those on the grounds that they represent irrational exuberance and outpourings of love engendered by the current win streak.

BENITEZ IS THE MAN!
Armando is now on track for 56 Saves just like Barry And Dave are on track for 56 HomeRuns and StolenBases respectively.
