I was there when Pee Wee Reese got his nickname. They said, "Hey, Harold! You're a short fellow. Reckon we should call you, 'Pee Wee.'" Then I struck him out with a filthy, filthy slider. And I said, "Hey, I reckon I should call you Guy With a Funny-Smelling Moustache Guy." For some reason, the first nickname stuck, but I struck him out again to make up for it.
