Thursday highlights from the Giants' farm: Adam Duvall homered while reaching base four times, and Chris Stratton had 9 K and 2 R in 6.0 IP.

AAA: Fresno defeated Sacramento 3-2
(after leading 3-0 entering the 5th inning)

Fresno: 3B Adam Duvall: 3 for 3, HR, BB, E
Fresno: C Andrew Susac: 1 for 3, HR, SO

Fresno: SP Jose De Paula: 5.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 7 K

Duvall remains hot since returning to the PCL.  He went hitless yesterday but has three hits in each of his other fives.  Today he also homered and walked.  Susac's 9th HR was the Grizzlies' only other hit.

De Paula matched a season high with 7 K, striking out a third of his (21) batters.

AA: Richmond lost to Akron 9-2
(allowing six runs in the 8th inning)

Richmond: SS Kelby Tomlinson: 3 for 4, SO, SB
Akron: SS Francisco Lindor: 3 for 4, BB, SO, SB, CS

Richmond: SP Clayton Blackburn: 5.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K--1 HB, 1 BK
Richmond: RP Cody Hall: 1.1 IP, 4 K

Tomlinson had three of the Flying Squirrels' five hits, raising his AVG to .269.  He also had his 34th SB.  The Indians' Lindor, one of the top twenty prospect in the minors, also had three hits.  He has hit .282/.358/.399 through 316 AB.

Blackburn made his second Eastern League start since returning from the DL.  Hall, pitching in mop-up duty, struck out all four of his batters.

A+: San Jose defeated Bakersfield 6-2

San Jose: CF Jesus Galindo: 3 for 5, 3B, SO
San Jose: 1B Brian Ragira: 2 for 4, HR, SO, E

San Jose: SP Chris Stratton: 6.0+ IP, 5 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 K

Ragira hit his 9th HR.  After just 2 HRs during May and June, he has already hit 3 HR in July.  Galindo's three hits, including his 6th triple, raised his AVG to .284.

Stratton's sixteenth start was his first this year not allowing an earned run, bringing his ERA below 5.00.  He struck out over one third of his batters (9 of 24).

A-: Augusta defeated Greenville 8-2
(scoring four runs in the 5th inning and three runs in the 9th inning)

Augusta: C Ty Ross: 2 for 5, HR

Augusta: SP Luis Ysla: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K--1 HR

Ross, one of five GreenJackets with two hits each today, hit his 2nd pro HR.

Ysla allowed more than 1 ER for just the third time in his last eleven starts.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Eugene 6-5

Salem-Keizer: LF Tyler Hollick: 1 for 2, 2B, 2 BB
Salem-Keizer: 2B Brett Kay: 2 for 4, 2B

Salem-Keizer: SP Jose Reyes: 6.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 7 K

Hollick and Kay each hit their 4th doubles.

Reyes had his third quality start in six starts and matched a season-high with 7 K.  Making his tenth appearance, Kay struck out three of his four batters.

R: Giants defeated Mariners 8-4

Scottsdale: 2B Kevin Rivera: 2 for 4, BB, SO
Scottsdale: RF Carlos Cartagena: 2 for 3, 3B, BB

Scottsdale: SP Martin Agosta: 3.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

Rivera and Cartagena each reached base three times.

Agosta made his second rehab start, facing just one batter over the minimum in 3.0 scoreless IP.

DSL: Gigantes lost to Rockies 4-1

Dominican: CF Mikey Edie: 1 for 4, HR, SO
Dominican: SP Alejandro Flores: 4.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K

Edie had one of the Gigantes' three hits (all singles).  His AVG remains above .300.  Flores made an extended relief appearance after starting his other four appearances this year.
